Our History
Sekonda is a British designed brand and we take pride in our original and ongoing goal of providing simply great, stylish watches at great prices.
Sekonda began with a small collection of Russian mechanical watches, and soon became a household name. Throughout the 1960s the Sekonda brand grew, moving its offices to a larger site in Leicester which is where the brand is still based today.
In the late 1970s, the world embraced new electronic technology and Sekonda switched from producing mechanical watches in Russia to quartz battery models made in Asia. Sekonda introduced more styles to their lines, influenced by the fashion market providing stylish watches at great value. In 1988, Sekonda became the UK's bestselling watch brand and held this title for 31 consecutive years.
